About International Islamic Fair
With the motto “Islamic Products & Services for All”, the IIF is a 3-in-1 annual international event incorporating the three sub-events: the IIF Trade Exhibition, the IIF Conference and the IIF Gala Dinner Concert (Nasheed). With Kuala Lumpur as its home base, the IIF is held overseas in a Muslim country every alternate year.
The upcoming International Islamic Fair 2008 is jointly organised by Hellix Exhibition Org & Management of Dubai, as the Host Country Organiser (Main Event Organiser) and Saba Islamic Media Sdn Bhd of Malaysia, as the IIF Brand Organiser. The prestigious yet people-friendly IIF2008 will be held at the prestigious Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in the heart of UAE’s business city, Dubai from 23rd to 25th December 2008. .
There is a dire need for a people-to-people contact and cooperation among the global Muslim communities in order to truly and efficiently mobilize the ummah on the intellectual, social and economic fronts. But in today’s borderless world, whether we like it or not, ‘minding our own business’ policy will not solve our problem. In fact, this attitude is a factor contributing to our current situation. We also need to embark on ‘bridge-building’ with other “good people of the world” in an effort to improve human relations and together change the world for the better, inshaAllah.
About SABA Islamic Media Sdn Bhd
Saba Islamic Media Sdn Bhd is in the publication, production, wholesaling and retailing of the Islamic literature, print media, audio/video, electronic and computer multimedia – for both local Malaysian and overseas markets. SABA’s goal-cum-methodology is Da’wah Through Business and its motto is Your Spiritual Wellbeing… our business. Its areas of focus are world current affairs relating to Islam and Muslims, comparative religion and children educational material – mainly in the English language.
The early years saw SABA active in organising talks, seminars and even (Islamic) entertainments involving world famous personalities such as Sheikh Ahmed Deedat of the IPCI, Durban, S.Africa; Sheikh Yusuf Islam (former Cat Stevens) of the Mountains of Light, UK; and Dr.Zakir Abdul Kareem Naik of the IRF, Mumbai, India. Alhamdulillah, SABA has in the process, helped to ‘produce’ Malaysia’s own speaker on comparative religion – Brother Shah Kirit Kakulal Govindji. SABA has also made significant contribution towards promoting a knowledge based society through social events such as ‘high tea talks’ and the popular “Signs of the Creator” nation-wide seminars in a dozen venues, including in Sabah and Sarawak.
With the experience gained over the years, including SABA’s own numerous participations in both local and overseas trade exhibitions, SABA has successfully conceptualised and organised the prestigious annual three-in-one International Islamic Fair (IIF), consisting of the trade exhibition, the international conference and the gala dinner nasheed concert. The IIF in fact achieved MATRADE’s “international event” status right after its inaugural event in 2006, the first non-governmental event in the country to have achieved such a feat. The success of IIF can be gauged from its achievement to date (over a relatively short period) in bringing a wide range of participants – from various fields, Muslim and non-Muslim, in all its three sub-events.
God willing, SABA expects and looks forward to a greater future achievement, all in the name of Islam and the good of humanity.
Saba Islamic Media Sdn Bhd (SABA) was established in 1989 as a sole proprietorship dealing with production, distribution and retailing of Islamic literature, audio/video & computer media with the “da’wah-through-business” approach and the catchy phrase “Your Spiritual Wellbeing… our business” as a compelling motto. Well respected on both the local and international front, SABA has made many contributions to Islamic da’wah and social activities that promote World peace through inter-faith dialogue & events, and comparative religion as an important bridge building tool; organising talks & lectures by world-renowned speakers on Islam and organising daei’ development programs.
Since 2006, SABA has worked to conceptualise and currently functions s the brand manager of the International Islamic Fair (IIF), an annual international event incorporating intellectual discourse, business networking and social/cultural interaction that is designed to address global issues at a time of crisis such as worsening interfaith relations, inter-culture conflicts, widening gap between rich & poor, increasing immorality & violence, as well as damage to the environment. An international event endorsed and recognised by the Malaysian Trade Development agency (MATRADE), IIF has evolved into a plaform for Muslim and non-Muslim to work together for the long term survival of humanity and that a big part of the solution to the problems of the world is to be found in the Islamic ‘products & services’, in both form and spirit.
About Islamic Information & Services (IIS) - Conference conceptualiser
The IIS is a non-profit da’wah organisation dedicated to informing the world of true Islam through the dissemination of information about Islam to all – both Muslim and non-Muslim. It was established with the resources made available by a group of seven selfless, motivated and benevolent individuals who together contributed towards the setting up of its activity centre in Taman Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur.
The grand purpose is to help maintain racial and religious understanding in this country and indeed the world, through countering misinformation and disinformation, inter-faith dialogues and various social events with themes like ‘unity for peace’ and ‘world peace now’. IIS’s operation is being funded by individual, corporate and public donations, through ticket sales of events such as Sounds of Islam dinner concert sub-event of the International Islamic Fair (IIF), and last but not least by Saba Islamic Media Sdn Bhd.
Among the activities at IIS are various talks on Islam, the Hotel Quran Project, the Friendly Comparative Religion (FCR), interfaith dialogues, bridge-building with adherents of other faiths, and ‘train-the-trainer’ courses.
In all the IIF events implemented so far, IIS played the important role as a co-organiser, helping out in many respects of its implementation, and in particular, IIS plays the leading role in the management of the gala dinner nasheed concert. For IIF2008, IIS plays the role of the Conference conceptualiser.
